Shipping knives outside Turkey (in English)

Hi,

I'm writing here in a very probational forum, hopping for a good advise,
My name is Ilan, for the last month I tried to buy some knives in Turkey and send them to Israel,
The post office send them back to the sender in Turkey after a few days, with notice "no knives allowed".

What is the right way to send knives from Turkey overseas?

Hi Ilan.

There is no way to send Knives by post, yes if you are  lucky the officer wit not notice it. but you have to apply to Turkish Goverment officialy. But you can not do it from out of the country, you have to be here or someone help you.
Even though the sender says its not a knive inside of the box, the custom going to put it X-Ray if they see any differences between the goods and description of contents they will confiscate.
the best way is come to Turkey and take whatever you want

Did your knives return back from Turkish offices or from Israel?

I think, In Turkey our customs is strict when receiving knives to Turkey, but when we send something outside what matters is the receiver country's regulations. I may be totally wrong though.

Birincisi posta kanunu sanırım 41. maddeye göre kesici delici aletlerin  kargo olarak kabul edilmesi yasak. PTT kargo yönetmeliğine göre kargo muhteviyatı ve göndermeden önce görevli tarafından kontrolü zorunlu. Yani ağzı kapatılmamış olarak kargoyu PTT ye getirdikten sonra görevli içini gördükten sonra kabul işlemi yapar.(Eğer kayıtlı gönderi türünde küçük paket olarak gönderirseniz bunlara gerek yok. ağzını kendiniz kapatıp PTT verebilirsiniz. Gönderinin 2 kg.dan aşağı olma şartıyla tabii.) Gönderi yurt dışı olduğu için  gümrüğe sunmak veya sunmamak PTT görevlisinin insiyatifindedir. Paket içerisinde 5 şişe parfüm varsa kesinlikle gümrüğe sunar, bir parça ticari değeri olmayan mal varsa sunmaz. Bütün bu kontrollerden pas geçtiğini düşünsek bile paket uçağa binerken yapılan kontrole kesinlikle takılır. THY ye yapılan en son tebliğe göre kesici delici aletler ve ateşli silahlar ve silah parçaları kesinlikle uçağa alınmıyor. Sanırım THY'ye yapılan tebliği diğer uçak firmalarına da yapılmıştır. Kısacası bıçaklar PTT'de de geri dönebilirdi.Dönmemiş. Gümrükten de dönebilirdi.Dönmemiş. Bence uçaktan kesin dönmüş. Ilan'nın sorusunun bir cevabı yok.

I'm sorry it is not possible to send knives from Turkey,
Till I'll be able to come myself to Turkey, hopefully during 2012, and buy them,
I'll try to make them my self
